Friday’s chemo oncology visit turned a bit pear shaped. A new doctor saw us and dominated the consult with discussion of an opportunity of a new trial with addition of Keytruda to regime of chemo and radiotherapy. Some possible benefits based on another trial on stage 4 cancer. Very rushed as he had been away and surprised we  not been made aware. Unfortunately would have to stop what was planned and redo all testing including new radiation planning to meet full trial requirements. With Xmas and New year short weeks it turns out that we would end up delaying start of radiation until mid January and problem too long to defer this in my and oncologists mind once he fully reviewed the current images. Kind of like being offered the cherry then taken away. He was obviously excited by my younger age and good health which is why offered but was done without forethought on practicalities of timing.
We had a Long day on our first day Monday.
Friday Doctor had not done my chemo script despite me txt and asking if he had considering the disrupted appointment. arived for appointment to start at0715. Only started my drugs around 12h00 and finished fluids about 1730. Had to rush my first Radiation as they need to do the first radiation after the cisplatin drug today and that was the second medication given in afternoon.Apparently the Cisplatin makes radiation more effective when follows. Rest of week radiation first as the daily drug does not do same as cisplatin. Radiation was interesting as could see the camera moving its diaphragm to sculp the exposed areas. From past experience with chemo tonight and maybe tomorrow should be okay. Wednesday nausea will probably ramp up and appetite be a challenge

Onwards and upwards
