Day 6 rest day

So we got through the week. Not as dramatic and less unwell than anticipated😀.
Quiet day waiting around in morning for mobile phlebotomist to come and take a blood count to make sure I can proceed to next chemo Monday. Auckland hospital lab said only provide service Saturday for transplant patient. Interesting talking to the young lass who came as she had been travelling around Auckland to take blood tests. She mentioned Sunday often much more challenging as may sometimes have too travel 2 hours North as far as Warkworth to provide the service to home based clients. Indication of how  locally based Rural access continues to diminish but in some instances can be maintained at both personell and financial cost. Patients can access similar home visit lab Service in Whangarei but not in KeriKeri.

Renene folks came for brief visit at our Domain accomodation today and was good to fellowship and have a brief trip around gardens with Oumie in wheelchair and then cup of tea on our favourite top deck at Domain

Then we took a walk down and around the Auckland Domain where people were playing cricket, lying in shade reading and resting or just enjoying family and friendship. Came across a group who had set up a croquet set and having a great laugh amongst themselves under a great canopy of trees.
Auckland hospital with furnace tower in background

Amazing sculpture called Kaitiaki. Auckland Skytower behind.

Entrance Auckland War Museum and keen to visit this exhibition on early navigators.

Fascinating shapes the Pohutukawa can bend itself into

Blessed to have such supportive wife Renene who keeps me sane and active and we can have a laugh about some of the sights we see on our walks around.
Perhaps the wedding date for these two guesses was a bit delayed seeing already three goslings in tow

More to come over next few days
